I had the three Jupiter.

-JP8: wonderful instrument, but sold
-JP6: sold (sometimes I regret it)
-JP4: still have it !! Good roughness in sound, it's like four SH09 in a box.

Let us not forget the VP330 for its strings section.
The making of my modular... (ok it's in french, but the pictures are easy to understand !)

EG-101! Totally underrated! :D

I think that the most influential thing that Roland have put out since the D-50 is the SP-404SX. It's empowered a whole new scene of creative use of samples in the last couple of years.

I'll happily stride through the irony to defend the JX1, it was a decent little synth for lots of people, for a young kid playing in a band wanting easy access to sounds, instant layers, a few sliders to wiggle, no multitimbralism and a handy little input to save you a mixer channel or plug in a drum machine to practice. For some people, could be all they need. And let's not forget the Don't You Want Me rave organ.

The EG101 on the other hand, can f**k off and die...

Out of all the ones I have owned over the years I would say the SH5 is hard to beat to be honest.
You always want just one more Synth!

So of course the consensus is that the V-Synth is the best of new, and a lot of people think the Jupiter-8 can't be topped for the old school synths, personally I have lots of old Roland too, and while I have played a JP8, and it was nice, I still don't want one. But I've got to say the full System 100 setup I have is very nice indeed and not to be forgotten. ;)

The SH-7 is the best looking in my opinion, followed by the System 700.

if i could pick one it would be the system 700. but i guess in terms of (positive) impact the jupiter 8 and d50 seem like candidates for me.

Digital - V-Synth
Analog - (IMO) a tie between the JP8 and JP6
