What synth is used in the gold HQ scene in Blade Runner?

Well, theoretically yes, but there is no other polysynth that allows you to interact with the sound in such a way the CS80 does. That's what makes the 80 stand out (and the 50 and 60, too, at least to some some extent). Even the Rhodes Chroma falls apart at some point.

The filters are rather unique, too. Metallic-sounding? No. That would be the Prophet 5 Rev. 3.

I'm not sure if it was used on Blade Runner but Vangelis was certainly also using the PS-3300 during the same era. It certainly found its way onto the Chariots of Fire score and could be seen sitting directly next to the CS-80 in the studio.

I've been restoring three PS-3300s in the past few months and what I can certainly say is these 144 tone generator beasts do brass nicely!
