IKEA stolman or similar to store synths

Post by Musicwerks » Mon Feb 27, 2017 3:23 pm

Hi folks,

I am running out of space in my little home studio..I read online that someone recommended using IKEA stolman or similar to stack store their synths.

Has anyone tried using IKEA before? I am using heavy synths such as Korg M3 and maxikorg a. I wonder if the IKEA can carry these weights?

Pictures and suggestions are most welcomed!

Thanks

Hi, your are referring to this setup probably.

I tried the stolmen solution with both the show rack sheet metal shelf and the wooden shelf. I did not find it a viable solution. If it is only to store a synth, yes it will work. But as soon as you start playing the synth, the shoe shelve significantly twist and the overall structure significantly shakes. Not fun. It is scary actually.

The stolmen are really made to put cloth or stuff that does not move.

Better off with a A type stand rack or a tripple stand.

IKEA is s**t, I would never trust putting a nice little synth on an ikea shelf
