For me its tweaking E-piano and getting it to sound real chorusy or warmer

Re: What is your go to tone?
A homemade variation on the DX7's Full Tines patch, which I sampled at two notes per octave over four velocity values (full decay) before I sold the keyboard. It sounds similar to the DX7 patches in TFF's 'Everybody wants to rule the world', Diana Ross' 'Chain reaction' or Kim Wilde's 'You came'. I have it in both Fantoms. There's something about it I just can't put into words, especially when layered with a soft Jupiter-style pad.

nice, I was playing on my friends vintage casio synth and the thing starts out on some cosmic sounding brass tone, which is really fun if you can hold the temptation to not go further into the other sixteen tones, thing has sick e piano

It will be synth brass with fast attack and moderate decay and release or FM-bell pad.

I have a couple sounds in my Motif I use over and over...a Rhodes (factory preset), three using mellotron samples and some leads using MiniMoog and OB-X samples.
I listened to Hatfield and the North at Rainbow. They were very wonderful and they made my heart a prisoner.

Any "rubbery" FM bass. Usually it comes punchy enough in the bass range, and synthy enough in the chords/melody range to draft something out really quick.
Second close would be any Jazz/FM piano. Needs to be "unnatural enough" though.
Follow all sorts of brasses, shakuhachis and EPs.

I don't like the drums, but the drums like me!

Two from my 106: a Taurus-like sustained bass, and a dense string/pad patch.
Switches, knobs, buttons, LEDs, LCD screens, monitors, keys, mice, jacks, sockets. Now two joysticks!

Mellotron Three Violins with a bit of Cello, run through a tape delay, Compact Phasing A, and a healthy dose of AKG spring reverb.

PWM bass is something I usually use to put new synths through their paces. Nothing like that punchy metallic tone...

Pink noise. White noise is just too busy.
