Lately an Alesis SR-16 and Alesis Harmony 61, which has some susipiciously FM sounds.

Why is FM suspicious? Unless it stands for Prof. Fred Moriarty.

I meant some sound like they come from an FM chip, others sound like Sound Canvas samples.

I have reasons to believe that the 'What's your latest musical purchase?' thread also disappeared following the recent spam attack.

I have just bought a Yamaha TX802 to quench my thirst for FM synthesis. I have owned a TX81Z, a DX7 Mk1, a TX7 and a DX7S in the past and I really miss them all so I thought that'd be the right thing to do as I can't afford a TX816. At this stage, I intend to use it as two 8-voice synths and for identical-but-detuned patches rather than for layering or 8-part multitimbral use but you never know, really. I am still looking for a JP-8080 so I can have a rompler/sampler, FM and (virtual) analogue combination. I also got a RAM cartridge for the TX.

Multiple times. No go. I'm tempted to do a factory reset, but I have a lot of patches on it that I don't want to lose, and thus far I've never used any DX programs to back them up...........

A second Quadraverb GT like new in its original box and a Yamaha SPX990.

It Says on the QVGT front panel "20KHz bandwidth" but the passband reaches 25, I mean it´s the corner frequency... so I wonder if tweaking the cutoff frequency of the antialiasing filter will be of benefit. As there is a video on YT where three guys from Alesis, Lexicon and Valhalla all agree about 15KHz being enough for reverb. So I´ll use one of the QVGTs for mods and the other for reality checks...

That's interesting that it could be adjusted. Even 10kHz bandwidth is enough for reverb. I think you might compromise some of the other stuff the Quadraverb is good at, like the Resonator. But hey you have two to play with

Yes, that's a good point.
It's easy to make the mod at least for gimmicks. replace the resistors r132 133 134 and 135 with double the value {from1.1k to 2.2k} to lower the fc by half. Although i havent found the time to do so.

Eh, my last musical purchase wasn't synth related, as I bought spare strings for my guitar. Some vintage synthesizer investments are coming in the near future though, as I'm planning to put my mother's Roland D-50 back to work in January... Christmas gifts delayed the whole restoration process!

A Korg DRM-1 Digital Rhythm Module, for next to nothing.
Looks like it´s the rack version of the DDD-1 Drum Machine. Much like the Roland R8M or the Alesis DM4, but I´m not sure what to do with it.
Lots of good parts inside, so I´ll probably cannibalize it...
