Route 66 Studios

That place used to sell synth parts and was around until like three years ago, maybe even more recently.

Does anyone know if the gentleman that ran it is still around and contactable, or if/who wound up with the remaining inventory?

It was a few years ago now but I recall the guy there was not well and his girlfriend/wife was attending to business matters but I think that only lasted a short while. However I could be completely wrong.

No, I think you're on point. That story seems accurate as far as what I have also heard.

Hmmm, I was hoping someone had some leads because I believe he had legit versions of most of the Ensoniq schematics. Had I known it at the time I would have purchased an entire set, but it's too late now, unless someone inherited them and/or enough folks bought enough of them that the collection can be reassembled from its constituent parts.

Hmm...I sent Richard Walsh from Route66 money to purchase the Ensoniq Eproms in 2012 and never received them. Said he sent me a refund and never got that either. Had to buy them from Syntaur, much more reliable source if you ask me. Lots of complaints on Richard Walsh do your research first!

Maybe I missed something. I remember from a few years ago, people were sending R66 money and not getting anything in return. It seemed to coincide with the illness of the owner which would affect anyone's outlook. He may have had to use any money for medical care, he was asking for donations at one point.
However, I don't know for sure what went on, I personally decided not to trade with the guy, as I've already been cheated by another well known trader in our synth/sampler world.
