Vintage Synth Explorer Forums

Today, March 8 is Gary Numan's 60th birthday. Happy birthday! Many of us here first got interested in synths thanks to Gary Numan.

Here's a nearly 40 year old Gary Numan song:

Here are a few tracks from Gary Numan's latest album released last September (good speakers or headphones are a must):

I had the pleasure of catching his show last year in Portland. If anyone has the chance, it is not to be missed--amazing!

I saw him in Portland last year as well! I agree - he's worth seeing. And it was so cool to see how proud he was when his daughter Persia came out and sang backup on one of his new songs. I don't think I've seen Gary smile so much in the other 2 concerts of his that I've seen over the last 20 years.

I shall be seeing him in Portsmouth UK, on Monday (12 March).

Saw him first in 1979 and many many times since, always brilliant.

Happy Birthday...Numan!

That Newman is spelled differently. I don't think that Newman uses synths.

It was a play on word with the Numan/Newman name...I was also going through a Seinfeld marathon at that moment

60th. Jings. And he's still bloody good.

Here in my car
I feel oldest of all
I childlock the back doors
With kids the only way to drive
In cars

Here in my car
My daughter will plead
To put on Little Mix
It keeps me grumpy for days
In cars

(etc.)

As a keyboard player, bad jokes are my pianoforte.

Agh! No puns! No puns!

For those in the states who may have missed him the first time, he is doing a second Savage North American Tour. Just ordered my tickets to see him again in Portland Oct 3rd. Highly recommend!
