Elementary electronics knowledge needed for sourcing power supply

Post by joeboy » Tue Jan 19, 2021 5:20 am

Thought I got a good deal on a Digitech multi-effects processor, but when the thing finally arrived I found out why; it didn't come with its weird, rare power supply. It needs a 4 DIN connector with a 2.2 amp 9V AC adapter.

I thought I'd order a 4 DIN converter like this one. And an AC adapter like this one. The description says it's 30W. Using an online calculator, it seems like this is enough to power a 2200mA device at 9V, but it also warns "MAX 2000mA."

Have I missed something here? Will this arrangement work or nah?

Hi,

this looks good.
AC PSU means no worries about polarity.
And description on eb*y says these power tips are compatible with:
DIGITECH - PS0920DC-1, RP6, RP7, RP8, RP10, RP12, RP14D, RP2000, STUDIO QUAD, STUDIO QUAD V2, BP8, PS0920

I furthermore doubt that the fx proc really needs 2.2 A.

Cheers
