Hi,
I'm wondering which synth they might have used in this old school techno record from the early 90's, especially the bit between 00:35 and 00:55, where the filters go wild? (EDIT: I stupidly forgot to include the link in my initial post)
Could it be a Juno-106?
I cannot help but think it has to be one of those old Roland machines.. an alpha Juno perhaps? But I don't think the filter can be easily modified, and the DAWs of that time had probably very limited capabilities..
Thanks for any feedback!

I'm not seeing a link to the song that you're talking about. Go ahead and post a way for us to hear the song so we can check it out.

Re: Patch recreation - which synth?
lol sorry!
there we go...
and also (I think it's the same synth) at 01:00 - and throughout - of this one :
It's the same producer, and from what I know of analog synthesizers, the filters sound pretty much the same ..?

You have an MKS-50 listed in your gear, try that.
PG-300 (or similar) to animate the parameter changes predates widespread DAW usage.

I had a quick chat with one of the two guys who produced that second track, and he said they used a Wavestation ... I find that quite amazing - I wasn't aware a Wavestation could sound like that at all ..crochambeau wrote: ↑Mon Nov 07, 2022 3:57 pmYou have an MKS-50 listed in your gear, try that.

But perhaps I can get pretty close with a "hoovery" sound of the MKS-50.. need some time experimenting
