MINISTRY gear
Anybody have any idea what gear Al Jourgensen of Ministry used? I'm not looking for any particular sounds, just curious. I'm particularly interested in the early singles, Arista material, Twitch era up to Psalm 69. I know fora fact he had a Fairlight and probably still uses samplers, but I'm curious about what synths he used in his early Ministry career.
Main Gear: Korg M500, Casio CZ-101, Yamaha PSS-480, sitar, cassette tapes

I think Al Jourgensen used a lot of Heroin. That and some guitars, for sure. Other than that I'm not too sure.immigrantboy wrote:Anybody have any idea what gear Al Jourgensen of Ministry used? I know! I kept hoping that he'd do the absurd thing and throw some synthpop back into The Last Sucker, but I doubt it. Looks like its gonna sound like another Rio Grande.
Thanks for the link to that video, I've been looking for it :D

Al sold his Fairlight CMI IIx and III on eBay a couple years ago:

In the music video "Same Old Madness", here you can spot a Moog Source.

There is written following in the book "Behind the Boards: The Making of Rock 'n' Roll's Greatest Records Revealed" by Jake Brown
"Jourgensen recalled that “we had the Fairlight, but that was very limited in sense that it had a 1.6 second sampling time, so we used some Fairlight, but on a lot of those early Ministry albums, I used a Roland Juno 60 and Roland Jupiter 8, and I also had a Prophet 5 I used for some strings, but it was mainly Roland with a little bit of Fairlight thrown in"
