New here, so forgive my ignorance-Triton and Midi question

Post by MadMax » Wed Aug 01, 2007 11:03 pm

I'm a guitar player who got a gig playing guitar synth in a funk band. I have a Roland GR-20 Guitar Synth interface and a Triton Rack. I want to be able to select patches on the Triton via a midi footpedal and the easiest way (to me anyway) is to have the patches that I use close to each other so I can access them with one stomp of a button. I'm using a Boss GT-6 preamp pedal as my controller.
What I don't know is the following;
Is there something in midi that can assign a button on my pedalboard to call up a preset in the Triton that differs from the button number? For example, I want to step on button 1 on my controller and I want it to call up patch C-011 on the Triton.

It's probably a simple thing in your world, but what can I say, I'm a guitar player...thanks.

Do you have the owners manual to the Boss GT-6? If so, look in the back where the Midi Implementation charts probably are and you can see what data it transmits over midi. Probably listed as Program Change.
