In a thread about letdowns with getting new synths some people seemed to be disappointed with the Opus 3. I'm not sure why. See what suits you best though. The prodigy is probably much more programmable.

Never played the prodigy but I can wholeheartedly recommend it over the opus. The Opus has the advantage of polyphony if that's what you want, but it's more like a toy with an excellent moog filter.

yeah, i was leaning towards the prodigy, anyone else?
i am looking for really good, bass and brass synth sounds. i know the opus has brass organ and strings, but what i knew about the prodigy is all wrong. what are some of its characteristics?

i dearly love my Prodigy, very simple yet marvelous sounding monophonic analog beast.

The Opus 3 is more like a dodgy organ with a tacked-on synth part..but the prodigy is a real synth.

Yea people get tricked into thinking if they mix the string brass and organ parts that all the sudden its going to sound awesome. Hint: It doesn't.
Get the prodigy.
