Bass station can be had for under $200
Matrix 1000 is usually in the $250 range
both are excellent prices for what you get IMO. Looking at some of your prices it might be cheaper to buy those items from the US and have them shipped...

Novation Nova! People don't seem to understand that it's 16 voices and six parts of fully featured supernova ii action. I got mine for $290 US.

Electribes- cool little boxes that can be had for $100 - $200.

ESQ-1- only get one if it works correctly, they can be had for $150 - $200.

Akai AX's - $250 - $300

Alpha Junos are going for really cheap right now and I'm not sure why. I saw an Aj2 for $175 BIN and one with some issues ( a few dead keys) sell for a little bit over $100 I think. I'm gonna get one with my birthday money because they are just so cheap right now. Somebody here won an auction for an Aj1 for a little over $60.

The SH-101 a bargain at £250?

I'd say the Yamaha CS series is better value for money.

I'll add some decent deals I've seen in the past, with condition as well as price as far as I can remember:

Roland JX-3P (mint, £100)
Roland JX-8P (good, £120)
Octave CAT (very good, £350)
Novation KS-4 (very good, £140)
ESQ-1 (£120)
JD-800 (mint with hardcase and ROM cards, £300)
Nord lead 2 (£250)
microKORG (mint with box, £100)
KORG M1 (£70)
Roland D-50 (good, £90)
Roland SH-2 (working, £150)
KORG Mono/Poly (very good or mint, £250)

of course it depends on the style of music you are making... but for a bargin go for fm. since people aren't into it, the prices are lower. dx21s are cheap right now. another inexpensive board would be the esq-1.

the MicrowaveXT is one of the best bargain up there, they can be had for around $350-600, depend on the condition and amount of voices (expansion board installed). I wonder if Waldorf re-release is as the MicrowaveXT+ with real analog filter and other goodies, it will be up there with the $1000 and up products.

secondly is the Roland MKS-20/50/70 series, those modules defined value, specially the MKS-70. I wonder if Roland also re-release something like that with some improvements and better interface. I think they will sell it in the above $2000 range, specially since DCO synths are hot again.

Nord Modular G1 (450-600), those going to be popular again, mainly because of the early nord sound character. not as fat as the NL, but have that edgy early nord sound.

Waldorf Pulse, with a better interface and improved sounding Oscs, this going to be another above $1000 gear.

V-Synths are a steal at US prices at the moment, they'll be going back up in a couple of years. The Nord Modular G1s seem to be cheap too, in fact anything that's decent and has been superceded recently is a good buy. Magazines are always full of articles about how great teh newest thing is and how much better it is than the last iteration that the prices of recently superceded gear is lower than it's worth. Exceptions are when companies go out of business, like Waldorf.

I've seen several Jx10p:s going very cheap lately. Don't remember the exact price but thought "Dang, that's a lot of synth for little money".

Yes! It's the reason I bought one!
Best DCO polysynth bargain in synthworld.
Maybe best deal period (of any type of synth).

I would add all digital-waveform hybrids (e.g. DW8000, ESQ1, K3), and sampling synths with VCF (e.g. DSS1, P2000, EmaxI) to this list. Especially the latter group: awsome filters and lots of synth power for little money. Best bet for ppl who can't afford hi-priced vintage polys but want BIG sound.

I'd have to vote for the non-knobby mid'80s Roland analogs like the JX8P, JX-10 and the Alpha Junos. Same with the HS series. Usually under $200. Great pads and such. I'd also give a vote for the Kawai K3 and Ensoniq SQ-1. You can get both of those for under $200 usually as well. Digital waveforms with analog filters and envelopes.

It's hard to recommend "budget" analog monos because there just aren't that many of them that are truly budget anymore. There was a time several years ago when there were lots of them (Realistic/Moog MG-1, Roland SH series, ARP Axxe, MiniKorgs, etc.) but there are few analog monos that sell for under $500 now.

I think it was one or two years ago, an ARP odyssey came into my local music-go-round with a messed up sample and hold. The S/H would cause all sorts of strange cackles and farts when activated and sometimes it just cut out the sound completely. It was going for 300 USD and someone else bought it (of course). I'm still haunted by this.
Do the funky Alphonzo.
