I believe they are exactly the same ... There's some 700s that say univox and some that don't also.

My question is .. what's the difference between the 2 Akai AX-60's .. they look totally different (amount of sliders) yet share the same name.

AFAIK - the model with the all-blue buttons and dual EG sections (and if you look closely, this one has a digital delay!) must be the pre-production prototype used for photos only, as the production model uses a button to switch between VCF and VCA EG modes and only has the chorus and arpeggio as effects.

My apologies for continuing the AX60 subject/hijacking - no hard feelings, I hope.

Thanks a ton Carbon .. it's been weirding me out when I see those pics ... I wonder if anyone has one of those. I've seen reviews mention slightly different versions .. but maybe they were talking about the what's inside.

i think we've done this before. From what i've found, there's only the one version.

THe AX-60 that I owned in the late 80's/early 90's had all blue buttons, but only one EG. That is the only one I had ever seen with all blue buttons. I'll see if I can find an old photograph, scan and post it.

If I remember correctly one was a prototype and one was the one actually produced it has been debated quite a bit on here and I think that was the general opinion.

unless someone actually HAS one.
