Looking at the manual, it doesn't look like it can. The closest you can come to that is using split mode, but it's still using one channel.

I tried a prophet 8, its build quality seemed questionable. I don't think it could win a fight with polysix is what I'm basically saying

dunno ... early up the thread some of the posters with them said they were pretty happy with that .

still got to work out what to sell to get one of these -)

Oh man... this synth looks so cool! Yet, I don't want to buy a synth with a 'giant' keyboard, since I'm not a keyboardist myself.

Regarding the rack version, when will it be released in Europe? Does anyone here has a clue? What about price? I've heard 1000 euros, but I also heard 1500 euros, which is quite a difference!!!

I would you compare the Prophet 8 to the early Prophet 5? I ALWAYS digged that synthesizer sound. Ryuchi Sakamoto's Yellow Magic Orchestra sound just blows me away

<< dsi didn't want to do an exact retread from the start... it's a synth for people who want a bit of that prophet sound and a bit of a something more electronica-ish/up to date mixed in, together with something really carryable.People wanting only the pure vintage sound aren't going to go for it, but a large set of other people will >>.

I'm near to buy a Prophet08, and a friend lets me try this instrument this week.

But I'm very surprised by the "filter bleed": in fact when you close the filter, you still hear the sound (not filtered) of the oscillators !!!

It's very easy to hear that on ambiant sounds like soft pads or soft bells.
Seriously boring......
And I've read some similar comments about the Evolver serie.

Does anyone knows if DSI will correct that on future models ?

The synth is only as boring as the programmer wants it to be.

A friend of mine has the same problem but only with two voices. All the others are silent. So he emailed DSI. They'll send to him a new voice card for free... they say it's easy to replace... unscrew - replace - screw.

The only time I've ever had that happen was when I had an LFO routed to the VCA level, which is not surprising at all. I think it might be user error causing this 'problem'.

No no, it do that on the six voices !

Sounds like if you had some bypass of the filter section in the signal path.

Take a very basic patch, no velocity, no modulations. Set the sustain level of the VCA to the max and close the filter. Normally, the sounds goes darker, darker, until silence. But not here ! You still hear the sound of the oscillators, a very low (but clear audible) non-filtered sound.
And with the filter closed, change the settings of your oscillators, you can hear what you are doing.

Sounds like some sort of calibration issue.

Hi, i come from Italy, and i have the same problem. With the cutoff set to 0 till 70 i have some filter bleed on voice 1 and voice 7, so if i program a quiet filter sweep, i still hear a clear audible non-filtered sound of the oscillators.
Recalibration procedure done!

I send a mail to DSI,

I recived a very fast mail:

"It's normal for there to be some filter bleed through. On mine, with the cutoff set to 0, I can still hear the oscillators when I press keys. ...."

"I'm sorry you are having problems with your Prophets. The only thing I can think of to try would be to swap the voice board."
