i thought you folks would be interested in this interview with Mark Mothersbaugh (DEVO) that a friend of mine sent as a link to me.
he talks about restoring this very interesting looking early electronic instrument called the Electronium that was created by a composer, Raymond Scott.
it also talks about his studio, Mutato Muzika, his work there and a run down of some of the more unusual instruments including an Optigon, poly EMS, etc.

Scott was an interesting guy who hired Robert Moog to design parts for his various experimental instruments. He never got his due recognition because he was very far out of the avant-garde-electronic mainstream in the 1950s and 60s, and because he guarded his technological secrets jealously.
