I have a original-style C64 with a commodore monitor. I also have another C64 and VIC20, which are both untested. They are destined for ebay.
On my C64 I run Music Machine and Prophet 64. I also have the midi-sync interface that goes with Prophet 64.
I've been thinking about getting a copy of Cynthcart, too.
A member of this forum told me ze would give me a SX64 and a small pile of music/midi accessories including software and one of those SCI controllers, but then they dissappeared from the forum. )=

Commodore - in particular the SX64
Tyler:
Saw your post on the SX64...was it me that said I'd "give" you an SX64 and MIDI stuff? I ask because I really don't recall the conversation. That being said, I do have two SX64's (one has a bad screen but I used an extension monitor for critical viewing) as well as software (both musical and non) and lots of carts and the MIDI interface and I don't recall what all. I also have a custom cable for the keyboard that use to go across stage for me to start and stop the sequencer in the SX64 - it's butt ugly but served a purpose. I never planned to give the stuff away but I'd be glad to offer it for a small cash donation...plus shipping (and these mugs are heavy).
No pressure - and I apologize if I answered a thread here out of place.
I love this forum and have bought and sold many cool items here - never want to cause a concern.

PS My band's first album was sequenced on the SX64...amazing what we could do with that technology

I use to control my sci max and sixtrak via my c64.I also ran my d50 and some others too.I don't have my sixtrak any more but I have my max and my multitrak and I just won on ebay the c64 korg software from passport so this will be cool.
what sort of music have you made with your c64 where can I hear it?

Music on the SX64
Greetings from Michigan.
I'll tell you what - this fun thread will make me pull my old tapes out of songs (all instrumentals) that I did with the SX back in the late 70's , early 80's and I'll turn them into MP3's for our universal amusement and let you know when they're up on the web.
I used a 16 track sequencing program to control my D50, TX7, Prophet 600, and Roland U-110 to make instrumentals that ran as background music for a local late-night real estate show in Detroit. Then, when my band needed to play live as a three-piece, we used it live for the bass tracks and extra keyboard parts. I'll look around and see if I can find some picts of us with the SX onstage.
Memories...who wooda thunk it?

I have a C64 and Atari 520 ST still. They're in boxes awaiting for somebody to buy them off me. :>
And a Vic-20, and well, a ton of other ancient parts.
And Valhala rocked. I picked up their entire D-110 series of cards for 10 bucks, sold them each for 35-45 bucks a pop

Wow! Welcome back. I thought you were gone forever. Nice to "see" you again.zukskywalker wrote:Hello Tyler2000! I'm back!
I've been absolutley swamped and buried in the muck of life. Too many funerals and too difficult to explain. The SX(and stuff) is still yours, just need to catch my breath and pack it up. If I gift wrap it you must promise not to open it until Christmas.
so what do I put down here now?

Re: sweet
It a 3 sound, 5 beat analog drum machine from sears during way back when. It even has a built in speaker. I'm not sure I like it too much though. It needs an output jack before I can really decide.Spiny Venutian Toads wrote:what is a "Sears Rhythm-matic II" that sounds cool.

Currently I use cynthcart via a custom built 'Bent 64', a modded C64 with audio in/out, a big filter knob, and LED filter value display.
back in the day I used such programs as Synthesound 64, 3001 Space Odyssey, and Kawasaki Rhythm Rocker!

I still have my SX64 with Syntech MIDI interface. I also had a C128 in the 80's. I ran Dr. T's Sequencer, Algorithmic Composer, and some other sequencer software. The SX64 was cool because it was portable enough to use on stage though the memory wouldn't hold much more than a bass line and drum pattern. The C128 was only a slight improvement as far as memory. Then I got into Atari ST's with C-Lab Creator. First I got a Mega 2 and then a STacy 4 both of which I still have. Never ran out of memory with these so I never went back to Commodore's. The ST's were nearly as good as the Mac's of the time and are still very usable.
hey moogplayer, a lot of this stuff is over my head, but i saw that you have a 2600 listed and i was wondering if you or anyone else could point me in the direction of modding my 2600.moogplayer wrote:Currently I use cynthcart via a custom built 'Bent 64', a modded C64 with audio in/out, a big filter knob, and LED filter value display.
