well, im sure this guy is much better of a person than that guy. BC i think is just a poor communicator. he needs to hire someone to run the pr game.

The latest update, 9 May 2008 contains the following inconsistent information:
VCO & LFO both use 24 bit / 48KHz converters (run at 48KHz).
A previous posting from 07 April 2008 mentioned the sample rate of the "VCO" as 192 kHz. The change of oscillator sample rate from 192 kHz to 48 kHz indicates a major revision of the hardware. These are fairly big hardware changes in just a month and it does suggest (if true) that actual production hardware did not yet exist when the 07 April posting was made.
I stick to my previously mentioned opinion that a sample rate of 48 kHz will cause oscillator sync (and possibly other modulations) to alias audibly. I think it seems like a very interesting synth (at a nice price) even despite of this but i wish the information was a bit more clear.

So if the core feature of this thing is that there are two oscillators and they run in a modulating mode, then this could be a big issue?
"VCO consists of digital oscillators feeding one output, VCOA & VCOB"

I wouldn't say a big issue, but yes. The sound would most likely have subtle digital artefacts with some inter-oscillator modulation, like oscillator sync. Considering that there are analogue filters present, this is probably not a big thing.. but nonetheless. I'm being anal about it all i guess :)

He sent it to a well known music instrument blog...
I'm a cynic, big time, always been...

Has anyone recieved anything from them yet? I have been eyeing the SM-16 sequencer, but I am reluctant to front any cash until I at least know that someone has received a BC-16 or an SM-16. I have corresponded with him about the SM-16, and he still has not listed any mini-banana to 1/8" or 1/4" cables to use the SM-16 to drive an analog synth other than the BC-16. He promised to have those on the site over a month ago and they are still not there. Other info and literature that he promised has been posted, but usually a few weeks after he promised them.

i am a cynic too, however i have been in e-mail contact with him and i really feel like hes trying, even if its not totally working. im sure everything will pan out, even if he suffers a bit.

He said that he bought his, so it is evidently a piece of a production run, hand -delivered to a high profile music blog with a lot of readers.
Um, yeah, well, I have known eccentric British engineers, maybe Fisher is one of those types...
It is a very cool thing, that vid shows why I want one.

Man...I'd be praying this thing never breaks down.
I'm sure this guy is totally decent, but this is why I steer clear of boutique stuff.

Maybe when I get mine, I'll put about three inches of foam on the outside.

I thought that a bit too, which is funny.. an atari punk costs $10 to build
