Polyphonies of synths - a celebration!

Post by tom Cadillac » Sat Dec 29, 2007 10:28 pm

So many different voices, so many different synths.
Have just got my jx8p back and the cello patch is so wonderful and really helpful if not vital in the current project I,m working on (no other synth I have could do this warm string sound so well). So I don,t have any trouble justifying another ancient keyboard crammed into the house.

I feel very lucky.
And I know there,s some serious downsides - gearlust, pissing off the people you live with and the decadence of having so much gear to play with, when in central Africa they don,t even have guitars much anymore.

But all in all, I,m really enjoying having all these different voices arround me to make sing together.
"On the following day , the sorcery undespairingly continued: I changed my series, chose other sequences, cut other lengths, spliced different progressions, and hoped afresh for a miracle in sound." (Stockhausen)
