A spare Juno for parts would definitely come in handy some day. Can't you stash one under your bed or something?
About the MK at work: Are you extremely strapped for cash or something? I understand how if you live in a tiny apartment with a wife any synth takes up too much room but what business of hers is it if you have a microkorg at work?

lol! yeah , here is probably similar. Everything is fine if i keep it tight and clean though (which I also prefer btw). But you should fight up for it a bit. It should be a 50/50 thing and it's good to hold your ground from time to time...

I have a similar problem, though in my case it's the other way around... I have owned a Juno-106 for a couple of years now, and we get along really well together. The Juno however, is getting tired of me collecting all these mail-order brides from all over the world that I keep in the basement. It tells me there just isn't any room left. Now just recently I couldn't stop myself; I just had to order these two Russian mail-order brides (pair of identical twins). The Juno insists I'll get rid of them pronto, but I think it might let me keep one of them if I get rid of one of my other mail-order brides. In fact I have this small Japanese woman that's kinda good for tweaking and cooking pot noodles but not much else. What do you guys think? A) Keep one Russian girl and get rid of the other + one Japanese girl, or B) No way man! Pot noodles are delish! Get rid of the Russian twins...

Pretend to sell the MK, box it all up, then take it to work and keep it there. Then when I need a break at work, I can noodle around on it w/a pair of headphones, or even use it as a controller for softsynths on my laptop.

Of course, another factor is that while Junos are cool, there are "cooler" synths out there too. I got the Junos with the intention of fixing them up and selling them, hopefully making a little money in the process, and then repeat (buy another broken synth(s), fix, and sell). By doing this I can try out different synths more cheaply without them becoming permanent residents.
So, even if I did sell the MK and keep the Juno, chances are in a few months I'd end up selling the Juno for something else anyway.
As for rack gear, the wife wasn't real crazy when I got the TX802 either, and most classic analog synths aren't available as rackmounts anyway.
Don't you think that sounds crazy? You shouldn't feel like you have to sneak around and hide things from your wife. Not to get all "have your relationship this way", but seriously, you aren't a pet.

well until you move in with your 1st gf or wife you might not understand where a lot us are coming from. It has nothing to do with being sexist, its just knowledge gained from living with a spouse. Not all gf/wives are like that, I've lived with both.

I'm not sure I understand the reasoning behind the ultimatum. If It's a question of space, get a 3-tier stand and be done with. Three boards stacked don't take up that much space unless they're DSS-1s.
If it's a financial thing, sell one 106 and buy a two-tier stand.

oh man....a friend of mine got a mail order bride. He got her from the philippines. The 1st 2 years were great everything was fine. Then she had her mother move in and soon some cousins too. He didint mind helping them out and thier relationship was going very well. They had 1year sold son so grandma was coming to help raise the kid. About a year passes.....He comes home early from work one day sick. He comes home to find a bunch a people in his house he has never seen. He yells for his wife, some guy stands up and says wait your turn buddy. The "family" had been running a brothel outof the house when he was at work. The wife left him the kid and split that night with the rest of her family.

Well, the reasoning behind the ultimatum isn't the point of this thread. The point is whether to keep the MK or one of the Junos.
Right now I'll probably sell both Junos, since there's really nothing about them that says "MUST KEEP!"
They're nice synths, but there are nicer ones out there I hope to score down the road (*COUGH*twoVCOspervoice*COUGH*)
. The MK can do stuff a Juno can't, such as oscillator sync.
Looks like I'll need to buy another 80017A chip though. I got one for one of the Junos, but it looks like the other one has an iffy chip too. I want 'em to be "perfect" before I sell them.

Well, that's different. You should definitely do whatever the Juno demands of you. There is no higher calling in life than to be a Juno wussy.
