i made a cradle for my machinedrum

so i got tired of leaning the machinedrum against boxes and such so i could angle it to see the screen.

i decided to build a nice looking cradle. i think it turned out pretty nice, and the best part is the machinedrum just slides in, so i didn't have to alter the machine in anyway, no holes or anything.

figured you guys might like to see some pix

i always hated that the machinedrum has a flat screen, this makes it some much easier to see

The way I use both Elektron is flat on the table with me hunched over the top of them... and I prefer this way. I love flat desktop machines... however, to each his own. I see many drum machines tilted in the fashion you like.

I don't like flat screens; have to look at them in a straight angle to see anything. Nice cradle btw; some kind of walnut?

Looks like Jarrah to me.

But yeah, it looks relly cool. Is it stable? I always find I'm leaning on my instruments a bit when I tweak them.

the wood is red oak actually, and the stain color is called red oak as well

i love the machinedrum, just didn't like leaning over it for extended periods of time, this cradle just makes me want to use it even more. but like you said to each his own

i think i may make a mini version of it for my jomox m-base01 since i have some left over wood.

it's built like a tank to say the least, solid red oak and i put rubber feet on the bottom of the wood so the whole thing doesn't slide around.

Ah ok. That's a pretty grain and colour. I'm guessing you used a flash when taking the pictures which made it look lighter? Reminds me of the walnut used on my console piano.

yeah the flash on my camera, kinda made the color look weird in the pix, it actually has more of a slight redish color more so than brown, not super dark though
