the mid-80's gemini dj mixer delay circuit post

Post by rjd2 » Sat Feb 23, 2008 6:43 pm

hey guys, just thought i'd throw this out there. these things are a nice, cheap analog delay that requires NO upkeep.

for me, delay and reverb are pretty essential effects if you get into recording, or even just for playing, really. just thought i'd let you "analog lovers" know about one of my favorites:

there were some delay units in mid-80's gemini dj mixers. not all have them, but some do. they are really cheap, and for me, they provide a similar thing that tape machine delays do-alteration of the original signal. you cant do all the wacky knob-twisting things you can do on a space echo, but if you are looking for a delay that you are going to "set and forget", so you can sit and play a synth, these are great. shouldnt be over $25, probably more like $10. i got both of mine for free, because as dj mixers, NOBODY wants these. they suck.

feedback, wet, and delay time are your controls(this will differentiate between the non-delay circuit models). that's it. nuts and bolts.

waaaaay better than a digital delay pedal, for sure.
