Suggestions on a 555 alternative?

Post by space6oy » Fri Mar 07, 2008 9:22 pm

spent the past week doing tons of work w/ my 555. arranging sequences on this thing is pretty annoying. its quantization works fine, but i really really wish that it had step arranging as well. aside from that, i do love this thing's mess of built in effects, and am very glad they made the effect memory scenario for saving and recalling settings.

so...i'm a sucker for simplicity. i love how drum machines and some sequencers let you say, "ok, hit this on this step once you get to it."

any suggestions on other samplers i might check out? i've already been through MPC-500 and 1000's, they're very nice but not really it for me.

thinking about trying an ESX-1... curious about its built in effects though. the great thing about some of the 555's effects is how they can be time sync'd...

note: did find another thread on ESX-1 vs. 555...

I can't think of any other option, which is better than the ESX-1. There is a very (unconfirmed and perhaps a long shot) rumor in general speculating that these could be updated soon.
