Diabolical Devices MG-1?

Post by roboctopus » Tue Mar 11, 2008 1:15 am

Does anyone have experience with Diabolical Devices mods?

I saw this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Realistic-Moog-MG-1 ... dZViewItem

And it seemed pretty cool. I'm looking for a new analog mono, one specifically with CV options to work with my moogerfoogers, and I'm looking for one on the cheap.

Just wondering if anyone has any opinions. Think it's worth it?

that one looked pretty cool, and if you were h**l bent on getting an mg-1, that looks like the one to get; HOWEVER, I would say that if you are prepared to spend $500+ on a mono, you might want to decide exactly what you want first... there are many other monos that you could buy for 5-600 that have far more capabilities... but if you just want a simple moog with some added tweaks, that might all you need. :)
Do you even post on vse bro?

Well, it doesn't have to be a moog. I'm really just looking for a simple analog mono with some CV ins and outs to connect to my moogerfoogers and the filter control on the Juno-60. Something simple that can interface with my other analog gear, basically.

Any suggestions? Cheaper is better! :)

I have two boxes moded by diabolical devices: [1] an mc-202 with zillions of extra ins and outs and [2] a circuit bent tr505.

The quality of their work is top notch. They can be a little pricey, but you won't be disappointed. Or... at least... I hope you won't be disappointed. :)

I like the MG-1 they have too, but the price is a bit too rich.

I highly recomend the MG-1. I loooooooooooove mine. Don't listen to what people say about the polyphonic section. It's restrictions are what make it so useful.

Also, just so you know teh VCF-in mod is INSANELY easy to do. I did it along with another mod to cut the speed of the LFO down to 1/4 its original speed. There are plenty other mods around that mostly seem pretty easy.
so what do I put down here now?
