Hey guys. I was watching the Futurama movie, and there's a synth part with a really nice sounding lead that comes in at 0:42. You can check it out here:
Anyone know what it is, or what can make it? I like how smooth it is.
What synth/synths can make this synth line?

Square wave with portamento.
I listened to Hatfield and the North at Rainbow. They were very wonderful and they made my heart a prisoner.

That's what I thought., thanks for the reply Tried it on my Univox, but sounded a bit off. Even worse on my CS-5, so I thought a particular synth could do it better...meatballfulton wrote:Square wave with portamento.

It's a square wave but it's filtered, so play around with the filter settings. Set cutoff to make it smooth and give it a touch of resonance and I bet you'll nail it pretty easily on any of your synths.
EDIT: It could be a triangle wave, or a filtered square wave, try both.

Two VCO: thanks to the push rods, one can choose several forms of waves at the same time!

The reason it didn't sound like it on your minikorg is because the square wave isn't even square...go ahead and take a look at it with an oscilliscope...or a software oscilliscope. You need a true square waveform to get that sound. Also I think the pulse width is not set to exactly square in that clip.
