Thats insane. IMHO, any digital rompler drum machine should be no more than $150. I bought both my 707 and 727 for $110 and $125 respectively about 5 years ago. I dont know why ppl go gaga over these things, a sampler kit of those machines sounds just as good as the actual machine and you can have the kit for free. In fact, that is why I sold my 7x7s, drumtraks, and DMX

While in the US a 707 may only go for 150 USD, in countries with stronger currencies I could see them going for 2-300. 500 is way off, though.

I bought mine from a friend that didn't like it for $40. Not bad. I would try to see if anyone around you is selling one (friends, or friends of friends). Good luck, they are fun.

yeah, i thought so, $500 is crazy. there was another i was checking out that overnight jumped from $125us to $295us. why is this? the whole circuit bending thing?
i wish i could find one for $150us. sadly asking friends isnt an option, they're all rock'n'roll types and dont even know what a 707 is. and they'd probably beat me up for embracing drum machines.
thanks for your input

Just be patient. It won't go for more than $260.

I picked up one recently on ebay oz for $250 with the memory card. Thats as high as i would go. They seem to be getting pretty expensive lately.

Yeah they are getting expensive even here in the UK, because they tag the line "the acid drum machine" as they were used along with 303's to create that authentic chicago acid sound.

The modding craze doesn't help the price.

Wait, what? Things cost more in a country with a stronger currency? You might want to revisit your economics education.

Things like drum machines cost more in Norway because they're scarcer and you guys are taxed until you bleed. Buy from US Ebay using Euros and you'll reap the benefits of the weak dollar.
Gear List: A bunch that go 'WHHONNGG!', several that go 'tweedle tweedle' and 'thumpity', and a few that don't make any noise at all but have lots of delightful little lights on them.

Umm the US dollar is weak. Hence if you buy something from the US, and you live in Australia, it will be cheaper.

If you buy from the UK, from Australia, it's more expensive. No? Exactly what SickMonkey was saying.
