Elektron SFX-6 mkII: Hoax?

Post by Stab Frenzy » Tue Apr 01, 2008 12:36 pm

What do you reckon?

Poll only runs for 3 days, be quick!

Oh yeah, I should add that I reckon it's a bit of a two-parter, their contribution to the April Fools business but I reckon they're considering it anyway and if enough people say they're interested they might make it.

So everyone should put their names down for it, to make sure they get built... :D

Well, the photoshop job on the inverted keys isn't exactly convincing - but obviously it just might be they don't have the real things done yet. Pretty lame for an April Fool's joke, but then again seeing how Clavia *just* did their Inverse-o-Lead...dunno.

...maybe the Swedes like to switch colours every ten years or so?

Oh yeah, those keys are pretty hideous. I'd rather they were all white or all black to that awful cheesy inverted look. Or make the naturals grey and the sharps white, or some other colour scheme that hasn't been done yet.

Perhaps it is a joke right now until a bunch of people sign up to be notified and they actually make it. I'd rather have this:

Doubt it is a prank. To risk pissing of customers like that. Had they done something outrageous like a 88 weighted piano key action with onboard bossanova rhythms maybe. This isn't exactly unlikely to happen

Isn't much of a prank to fall for. But it is odd to reveal it today.

whether or not it's real, i'm getting sick of reverse keys fast. it was cool when just a few older synths were sporting 'em, but the appeal fades quick when everybody jumps on the bandwagon. i'm probably crazy for saying this, but it'd be nice if some company came along and at least feigned a hint of innovation... maybe red keys, blue, green, anything...!

at this rate, in ten years we'll all be "oohing and ahhing" when Clavia brings out the Nord Lead 3x with traditional black on white keys. "OH SNAP WHAT'S OLD IS NEW ETCETERA"

thanks for the link...

eh, i think the black keys don't look so good on the metallic body. grey and white might be hot. or just all grey. but as is, not so impressive. and not so funny.

Glass keys with light would be pretty cool.

With the current trend of lit-up mod wheels it seems like the next step to go. :p
