Re: What was the cheapest Synth you ever bought?
I saw the ad about 1 hour after de posting. I called several times to a busy signal. This morning I called and he picked up the phone to tell me he had sold it. I said ok, thanks, and hung up. But then I called again and asked if he had delivered it yet. The guy said: no, the buyer is coming at noon. I asked: for how much did you sell? He said: U$300. Me said: would you like to hear an offer? he said: sure me said : U$600 and I'll come now! He said: Deal!!!! When I got there I talked him down to U$500. I kinda feel bad for the other guy, but hey, I got it!!!30h5 wrote:Nice! How did you pull that off?guitarsandsynths wrote:Today I bought a Prophet 5 for US500.

Just scored a mint Casio VL-Tone for $5 at a thrift store. I spotted it as soon as I walked into the "electronics" section of the store. It's pretty awesome that it's analog and can come up with some really cool sounds in the adsr mode. It's a really cool piece of gear! Try this: 50569928 kinda cool I thought..
Re: What was the cheapest Synth you ever bought?
i wonder what the seller told the guy he promised it to.

Re: What was the cheapest Synth you ever bought?
A Roland SH-2000 for $50. It needed some cleaning to work properly, but it made me like it even more now. He even offered it to me for $20 or $30 but I felt bad for him.
I've learned from my mistake now. f**k feelings.

The other guy should have shown up sooner. When a synth shows up for cheap like that you better go asap else that could happen.minime123 wrote:i wonder what the seller told the guy he promised it to.![]()

Re: What was the cheapest Synth you ever bought?
I've gotten a lot of deals in the past year or so that I've been collecting gear. Some better than others. Mostly locally. My whole kit is deals basically. Prices Canadian.
$20 Poly 800 MkII at a garage sale (the crack that got me started)
$40 for Soundmaster ST-305 Drum machine
$50 for mint Boss PC-2 AND DR-55 together (sold PC-2 recently for $300 US)
$100 TR-707
$100 for Creamware A16 Ultra A/D/A (sold on Ebay for $600 US)
$120 for Pearl Drum-X analog drum brain
$150 for Tama Techstar TS-306 with 6 pads and stands
$150 Mint Casio CZ-5000 with all manuals and case
$150 for mint R8m rack with Electrnic and Dance cards (resold cards alone for $175 US)
$200 last week for a mint Yamaha EX5R
$200 last week for a mint Yamaha SY-2 with cover, pedal, instruction booklet from a different person.
$200 for Proteus 2000 with Techno Synth Construction Yard card
$350 for a MC-202
$500 for Mint Roland JX-10 with PG-800 and 4 M64C cartridges mint with case. Sold three cards at $100 US each.
The only thing I've thrown really big cash at was a just serviced Waldorf Q Rack for $600 Canadian. Which is technically still a bit of a deal. Usually too rich for my blood but I wanted it bad.
That doesn't beat a friend who bought a Class C Minimoog with one broken key off a guy locally for only $500. When do you even see those?
