Oh this was just this week and it was wonderful. A kid had moved here from across the country to work on the oil rigs. And I mean a kid. If he was over 22 or 23 I'd eat my shirt. He's been a DJ since he was a little kid and his mom bought it for him back home from a local musician so he could make dance music with it. Well, being a kid "needing" extra cash, he put it on Kijiji for best offer. I offered him $200 and he took it. Could you imagine that? No shipping either, which would have been expensive because that thing is a beast. Like, $200 Canadian period.

When he brought it over I asked him why he was selling it and he said it was "too hard." The EX5R's not exactly a beginner synth. I'm elated. It filled some gaps. I'm still very new to this all and I didn't have a workstation or a sampler so it filled both needs along with a pretty boss synth.

Most of my purchases here are pawn shop and local kijiji/craigslist and friends or friends of friends. Seems I've pulled everything useful out of the pawn shops for now but will still look from time to time.

I've bought a few things off Ebay but it's not like they've been crazy deals. Hard to get crazy deals there for anything other than accessories.

Finally, MY turn to gloat! :D

I scored a PERFECT condition, single-owner MKS-30 and PG-200, and a slightly used Yamaha AM602 6-channel line mixer for a grand total of $100 CDN.

Since I figure $50 would be a decent price for the AM602, I basically got a perfect condition MKS-30 and PG-200 for $50!

Sweet! I finally scored me a deal on a synth.

Oh, and it sounds beautiful! It's my first analog synth. 8)

There has been some awesome and amazing deals thus far, but a friend of mine scored an EMU EMULATOR II for 5 bucks at a garage sale down in KY about 12 years ago, he found it last night and asked me what I thought it was lol, it's dang near perfect cosmetically not sure about the guts of it, cuz those drives tend to only last three years or so.

Nice find. A guy at one of the local shops told me that he had bought a broken one for the drive, and when he opened it up it was full of cockroaches.
