These past two weeks have been very good to me. Two steals in my home state:

Yamaha CS-50 and DX-7 for $100 total. I offered the guy $300 for just the CS-50; he laughed at me and told me $150; when I got to his house to pick it up, he knocked the price down to $100 and threw in a DX-7. Both synths needed repairs, but I could not pass up a deal like that.

EDP Wasp, Gnat, and Spider: $350 total. How these things ended up in a tiny East Texas town, I will never understand. Now I need to find some cables to hook up the Spider.

Did you get the CS-50 into fully working order? Still a great synth even if it isn't a CS-80.
The reviewer on Bluesynths.com said he sold his CS-80 and kept the CS-60 because it was better to have a 100% stable synth with 60% of the features, than a 60% stable synth with 100% of the features.

The CS-50 is fully operational as of one hour ago. The voice cards still need a little calibration, but damn--it sounds fantastic.

Aw, I envy you so much. I played on a CS-60 a few years ago, just messing around with the preset buttons, although it was so whack out of tune you couldn't play a chord on it. Still sounded so good I remember it still. And one week later it was gone from the store, some guy had just come in, looked at it for a moment, paid up and said he'd fix the tuning and carried it off, happy as a child on christmas. We don't see those synths often in Norway.

shs-10 for $45 off craigslist. Not REALLY a synth but considering what it is and for how much they go for on the bay it's a reasonable purchase. I got it with the box too in good condition. I think I'll keep it around for a while though. It has been fun for the past few hours hooked to the front of my motu midi interface jamming on all the synths I own

ok, my roommate bought a model d yesterday. perfect cosmetic condition, flightcase, from first owner, with manual, latest version. has some minor issues, seems like the waveform / range switches need a replacement. bout 600$

You want the 'vintage toy forum' not synth. I see they go on ebay for ridiculous prices £200+ sometimes, personally I would never pay more than a tenner for them but each to their own.

The thrift stores used to be full of these. I bought my first one for $5 and a friend got two of them for FREE.

This makes me a bit mad, I had the oppurtunity to buy a Roland SH-5 for $500.00 and I had to sell off some of my gear to get the money so bye bye SY-55 and my Micro-Moog. But anyway I got the money together and I called the guy well turns out he decided he didn't want to sell, so there went two synths for bunko, but thats some extra scratch for my next synthesizer lookout.

The best part is, aside from the wheel and trigger (which obviously need to be re-attached), it works 100%

I think this officially beats my previous record of a K4r for $20!

Is it the "Addams Family Signature" model ?

And what's the modification at the output of the LFO ?

I mentioned my £27 DX7 mark 1 but forgot about my £20 Korg EX800 from a car boot sale many years ago. I kept it for a couple of years and sold it for the same price. It is the cheapest synth I've ever bought but although it was in mint condition, it was probably worth that price anyway!

haha... more like the backwoods model.. But again, amazingly, it works 100% (even the broken keys on the left). Korg knew how to build them!

That "mod" is actually the on/off switch for the momentary button. Later models of ms-10 had momentary switches next to the mod wheel as standard (which you can see on the mod wheel section if you look closely). The handle on top must also be a later model thing too (I love that there's a handle! )
