Just be patient and keep your eyes and ears open. There are synths in attics and garages everywhere.TrondC wrote:I'm on the opposite end of the scale.. my brand new Microkorg cost $1100 (yes that't right) new from the stode some four or five years ago...Cumulus wrote:I picked p my Yamahh CS-50 for $150.00 in 1992 or so and my MiniMoog set me back $250.00 last year.
My Korg Electribe and MicroKorg were around $100.00 each and the Roland TR-808 was $250.00 last year as well.
I am still looking for a TB 303 and a 1929 RCA theremin in the thrift stores and flea markets....
There are just NO deals like this to be made anywhere around where I live. no pawn shops, no second hand electronics stores, no flea markets no NOTHING but hard work and premium prices. damn you all!!!

I believe that may have been me who purchased your 606! It is a lovely little bit of kit, can't wait to get back to uni to sync it with my sh101 and sh-3adsp wrote:roland tr606 for £5 in 1996

can i please join you on your next trip to this store?!THEODICY wrote:Ok, I'll add another one.. Not EXACTLY a synth, most like a hybrid but I just got a Yamaha Electone C-60 at a thrift store for $37! The same thrift store where I got a CZ5000 for $27!!! This place is the f**k best! Anyway, the C-70 was made in 1977, same year as the E-70 so I'm almost sure they use similar technology, but there is not a lot of info online about the C-60. It has most of the functions but no pull out drawer for full on synth tweaking, however, it does have filter control and it is analog! It even has drums, an arp and bass pedals, a headphone out and a pair of RCA outs... oh yeah, it has a leslie speaker built in as well!!!!! $37, awesome!!!!
It weighs 200lbs though...
I gotta say this...., Yamaha makes the best instruments.
