What was the cheapest Synth you ever bought?

Just picked up my- Access Virus B Indigo for $200.

I will admit its been through allot, but this thing has some famous history to it.
Cosmetically- its a nightmare.. sorta..
mechanically- it functions 110%

ok, i can now say i have a new 'cheapest' for me... a free Ensoniq VFX that needs work. That and my $6 EPS that needs work.. lol

i just picked up a korg poly-800 for 75 cents. I'm not really sure whats wrong with it yet...it kinda only makes one noise, but it had a weak power supply so I hope replacing that and giving it a good cleaning will change its performance...maybe.

the guy asked if i wanted it since i was looking at it - said yeah maybe, depends on the price. he said he if i give him 75 cents for a coke, i could have it. not a bad deal, right?

Best synth deal I have ever heard of... You couud part it out and sell off one key and make a profit.

I hope you replace that power supply and it works perfectly!

you are correct about the Cs1x
also, the Quadrasynth is a 7.1

I have a 7.1 and every time I list it for sale I hook it up to test it out and then I start having second thoughts about seling it. I keep thinking that I might one day need a ROMpler and it's good at what it does.

Many of the presets are way too drenched in reverb for my tastes but it's a good machine.

Do you have any of the Q cards? I have 3 of them.

I bought a "broken" Odyssey 3 from a friend of mine for around $175. He had spotted it in a pile of leaves and rubbish on the back of a truck. As if to be thrown out! My friend left a note with his number and $10. The guy never called. The Odyssey had note stuck on. I opened it up and saw, to my horror, water marks in the bottom. Luckily it had dried out before my friend fired it up. All that was wrong was a post on the bottom of one of the keys had gotten broken. I superglued it and never had a problem with it again.

Cumulus- I'm glad to see another fan of the QS/ series.
I only own the one Modified PCMCIA card, that accepts compact flash cards. its great for editing and uploading your own sounds to the synth. however I'd love to own a couple of the original Q cards

I got an ARP Solina String Ensemble for $75. This was about 7 years ago. It was pretty beat up and ugly, cosmetically, but it worked just fine...

That would be cool.

The manual says you can upload sounds to the thing but I have never tried.

I'm not a big fan of ROMplers but I like the sliders on this thing and many of the osunds are actually quite good.
I have used it on a couple of my songs and it is oging to make an appearance on a couple more of them soon.

Good controllers? It makes me cringe just thinking about it. The QS7.1 has a way better keyboard. No-where near as bouncy as the cs1x.
