<<<noob , What can I do with a Casio dg-10?

Post by geestring » Wed Jun 04, 2008 3:59 pm

I just bought one because it was available. And it looks brand new if that is possible.

But I realized only the Dg-20 has a midi output.
This dg-10 only has a 1/8" stereo output.

do you think it is possible to mod a midi output onto it?
Can I connect the guitboard to my alesis ion through 1/4" or do I NEED midi?

Thanks

I doubt anyone has ever tried to add MIDI to one.

You could run your Casio into the Ion, but that would just allow you to process the Casio's audio through the Ion's filter and so on, not actually play a note on the Casio and have the Ion play that note.

Guits: '86 Fender Japan '50s Reissue Strat, '80 Aria Pro II TS-300 Thor Sound

what do you mean?

I can just distort the sounds using the alesis knobs etc...

What can I do with this.. I guess it's seriously crippled without midi

you do know that midi only sends note information and not actual audio, right?

you can mod the casio to have a 1/4" out that you can run into the external in of the ion or any synth with a line in or an fx box.

sheesh, its like you people are afraid to even hook up cables to the synth...

connecting it to the ion's ext input via the standard output on the casio would let you run it through the ion's filters and such. you dont need midi for that. a midi connection would allow you to use the ion to play notes from the casio, or vice versa.
