I read about your recent {forthcoming?} acquisition of a Monomachine. I don't think I've ever seen you go digital before, so I'd love to hear your impressions {I'm a keen fan, m'self}.
Yours,
Niall.

Oh, I've been digital before. I've owned LOTS of digital boards and still have a few.

The monomachine is really cool. I have a Machinedrum on the way too to compliment it (and everything else). The MM just seemed like a really nice quality digital synth. Lots of flexibility and a nice sequencer. I wish it was a MK2 so I could use the new UW OS, but then again they never made the SFX-6 keyboard version with a MK2.

What I would've LOVED to see is the keyboard version, but without the MM to the left, have a MM on the top left and a MD on the top right.

I figured as much, though I can't help bit associate you with vintage analogue kit.

Yeah, I have the SFX6 as well, and the Mk2, no matter how nice, is a comedown from that.

The integrated MD and Mono idea sounds rad - it'd look like an Elektron Matrix 12!

Niall.

I can see that. I definitely have more vintage analog than anything else. I've had good digitals though. Anyone have a fairlight for me?

But would take up the space of a Pro-one.

I feel like I'm barging into a private conversation here.
Maybe I do because I have nothing to say anyways, bye!

....maybe it should be hinged in the middle, like a Mini ?

I don't like what you did to the beloved joystick in the second photo, id, but you get points for initiative and style ;)

Looking at it, yeah, it wouldn't be much bigger than, say, an Opus 3. God, that would be nice. Maybe Allerian'll do it for me!

Edit, this RADIAS-like form factor would be terrific. Just dislodge your MDUW, make beats in the living room and you're laughing.
Yours,
Niall.

Interesting idea, but it would never work. Too many (small) buttons near the hinge. It would be a pain in the a*s.

Maybe the buttons could be moved to the area just above the keys.

Honestly, the thing that would make the most sense would be to still have just 16 buttons. You just choose if you are editing a synth or drum. The only advantage to the way it is now is no real extra work would need to go into it.

ok, 16 buttons, at the top of the key deck, and a little extra height for the hinge.

Maybe there's no keyboard, just the MM and MD put together, and instead of the small buttons they have today, have 16 MPC-style pads.

I liked the original form. Probably because I think the RADAS keys' chassis has a lot of potential, and I'd like to see it done well elsewhere.
Yours,
Niall.
