Hard to tell with the bit reduction going on. It could be almost any synth, but it has a D-50 like quality to me.

I know in live sets Danger uses Ableton Live, so it might be the built in synth.. but that's just a guess

It sounds very much like something out of an older Amiga MOD file (or the more modern PC equivalent - S3M and XM).
See
http://paul.chattaway.com/clacomp/mods/ ... E.S3M.html - you'll hear similar sounds there. This was made with a tracker which is basically a combined sequencer-sampler - so see if you can use
FastTracker II to open this file (or any other file - they're chock-full with 8-bit samples that aren't always looped well).
You can't open the sample files (.xi) with a wave editor, but you can play a long, sustained note (and nothing else), find out where it loops and use that as source material. It's a very roundabout way of doing things, but it works better than applying a bitcrusher after a more "pure" signal.
