doepfer A180 simple question

Post by jah_vengeance » Sun Sep 14, 2008 5:05 pm

hey, just bought (and waiting to arrive) a heap of doepfer modules for a portable system, but ran out of space in the g6case for multiples - though ordered a couple for a plan i've got: i was wondering, since the a180 is stated as using no current, i'm guessing it doesn't then require a power lead of any sort? this being the case, my plan is to remove the front panels and fit them into a small box to sit along side the g6 frame.

anyone else done this?

i know there's the mini case (a100mc) available, but as (i hope) no power is needed, this seemed excessive (specifically in size as portability is what i'm after) for my needs, plus that would be an extra £52 i don't really have.

Correct, multiples are passive modules. No power cable needed. It's just a row of connectors soldered together.

excellent news - thanks for the reply.
i'll post my handy work up here once i've drilled and mounted the thing - sort of surprised others don't do this as well (or perhaps they do?).
