i don't like the one row of 16 steps. i like to have the matrix so you can see the entire pattern at a glance.

Re: New Future Retro product coming.
i'd take one either way, but if it would cost considerably less to reduce the unit to one 16 step pattern (and considering the way this industry operates, it almost assuredly would), i'm all for it. one might argue that the multiple rows would help in dropping certain steps in and out in realtime usage, but considering you could only see 16 steps of the pattern at a time anyway, i'm not sure how useful that would be. you're still shifting thru multiple patterns. may as well ditch the clutter at the same time.StepLogik wrote:agreedkilledaway wrote:well YEAH!stikygum wrote:They could shrink it, but the more lights the better.![]()

unless of course, they make a 128-step machine. that would be hilariously awesome!

You could probably have a mode where you split the 8 lines into 4 tracks of a 32 step pattern, 2 of a 64 etc, kind of like the sequencer on the DS-10 I think
Re: New Future Retro product coming.
Could it be as simple as Mobius MKII?

That would be awesome! Now I want a Korg EQX =P~Hair wrote:You could probably have a mode where you split the 8 lines into 4 tracks of a 32 step pattern, 2 of a 64 etc, kind of like the sequencer on the DS-10 I think
And I think we will se a Mobius MK2. It makes sense and I'm guessing it will be very suitable for the XS. That would be interesting to see FR make a drum machine though. I would get it.

Re: New Future Retro product coming.
not sure why, but i think i recall Jered remarking that he was in general getting out of the 'logic' side of gear, and focusing more on the synthesis aspects. So not sure what that would mean, other than I have little hope for a Mobius 2...

Re: New Future Retro product coming.
I am kind of thinking Drum machine. Imagine (well, some don't have to) but if you had a total FR live setup. A 777, Rev.2, XS with or without a mobius, and a FR-Drum Machine all synced, how much fun you would have tweaking. You could easily have each unit taking on a different role (leads, bass, acid lines, ect.) without much overlap. I believe it was stated that Jered wasn't going to do anything with patch memory, so it seems like perhaps an analog drum synth attached to a sequencer would be a logical guess or next step. Sort of like a X-base 09 without samples with the FR tried and true sequencing. Or maybe an analog FR effects box (Chorus, Delay, Ring Mod, Flange) ? Who knows, I guess we will see.
Re: New Future Retro product coming.
A modular effects box would be good, especially as it would integrate with the XS.
However I would like to see an all analog drum machine, or just a really good sequencer or anything really... I have this trust in FR that they will make something good whatever it may be...

Re: New Future Retro product coming.
has anyone suggested an analog polysynth? it might be the logical step for a company that has made great monos thus far....
i would consider buying it.. i love the sound of things like the Juno-60 and the Jomox Sunsyn...

Nobody's suggested a commemorative teaspoon yet, I think that's what it probably is.

Yeah I think that would be a great feature, indeed.Hair wrote:You could probably have a mode where you split the 8 lines into 4 tracks of a 32 step pattern, 2 of a 64 etc, kind of like the sequencer on the DS-10 I think
If FR makes a drum machine, I will almost certainly buy it the second its available.

Re: New Future Retro product coming.
I was thinking a Mobiues 2, but if indeed Jared is focusing on the synthesis side, then I'm with Stab now.
A polysynth would be interestingly cool, but somehow I don't see it. He suprised me with how good the XS turned out so I wouldn't put it past him.
1st guess is the Mobius 2 and 2nd is a Drum machine with a modular approach and integratable with the XS.
