Roland sends Cease & Desist orders to anyone who touches on any of their former products without permission. More specifically, those who don't take the care to not make their product look like a 303.

This has been mostly an issue with software developers of both free and commercial plugins, however I can't recall any hardware units that actually copy the look of an original 303 to that extent.

Just don't be surprised if you receive a letter.

Nothing against you either, man. They look good. I'm simply here to educate ;)

I find that after two lines, it starts to get a bit cluttered and muddy.

Now, two acid lines with a thick pad, synth stabs, stinger strings, and an arpeggio - thats the fun stuff :D
Exactly!

Wow Mome, great setup! Unfortunately I had to dump my JP-8000 to fund more modules for my modular set-up. One of them is a VCS3 filter clone, which is also a triple diode filter like the 303.

Sorry to bother you sir.
Oh I didn't mean it in any kind of way like that.
More so just a
"Cool, you wanted one, fought what you knew you wanted, and now you finally have one. Congrats on your purchase." =)

Oh ok...sorry then... I never forgot I wanted one, but just kept telling myself I didn't need one. However, looking at all the pictures, listening to some Luke Vibert, feeling it would be a good match for the 888, and the fact that x0xb0xes on ebay have come down a few hundred over the last few months sealed the deal for me.

I got on the x0x0box list but got impatient and had already bought a Revolution by the time my number came up.

Never looked back. :)

was thinking about buying one of the built ones on ebay. there is one guy who always has a few for sale and seems to know what he is doing. i'm too lazy to build one myself. only problem is the built ones on ebay are expensive as damn.

One of those boxes is mine. I've only built 2, but they're easy to do. Just time consuming. And both of mine have worked, right off the bat =o] I think $800-$900 is a reasonable price. Considering the time put into making these.

hm, you sold your Acidlab 1 for 700$? I never imagined they were getting that expensive. perhaps I'd sell mine, throw in 2-300$ extra and I'd have myself a xoxbox? the Acidlab is good, but the xoxbox is just more flexible, + it's better on the low end (not so agressive as the acidlab)

I just bought my x0xb0x for $750 TrondC... they are getting more prevalent on ebay and are becoming cheaper.
