How would I price this KORG SG-1D/SG-1

Hi, I have a vintage KORG SG-1D/SG-1 that I am going to sell on ebay. It turns on, but does not play. The owner bought it about 20 years ago and had a long love affair with the instrument. He had it repaired years ago after a power outing caused it to stop working and it was easily fixed by an authorized KORG repair shop. He feels it could be easily fixed again. We have manual, cover and foot pedal. Any pricing suggestions would be much appreciated. Also, would it be worth it to take this and try and have it repaired first?

Thanks!

Get it repaired then sell it.

orrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Create an eBay auction, set a ridiculously high reserve, wait till you see final bid. Use that as a guide to whether or not you should repair it and sell or what.

Second option is pretty low though :p

Realistically, it seems these things sold for ~3000 or so. Its probably worth it to have an electronic tech take a peek before you try selling it off.
If you sell as is, you should really bump it down cause a dead piece of c**p shouldn't sell for much :p

Thanks for your response! Where would I find a reputable tech to look at this? Should I just start calling local music stores that sell synthetic keyboards? I'm in Chicago. This is all new to me....obviously :D

Ok, I did not mean to type "synthetic". Synthesizers!

no idea unfortunately. i'm sure someone else could help. you could start checking yellow pages, etc and ask around at music stores that deal in the kind of gear you've got. they should have some leads.
