Does anyone know what circuits are used in the mfb analogue stuff?
Are they custom Ic's or discrete?, from the demos of the Kraftzwerg that iv'e listened to the osc's sound quite thick like the Cem 3340's. but the 3340's are virtualy extinct nowdays so i dont think they're those. Any ideas?.
Obiously discrete is better in terms of getting them repaired in the future. Thanks

Re: Mfb modules/Kraftzwerg
I've opened my MFB Synth 2 up before. As far as I can tell the filter and oscillator section are made up predominantly of transistor arrays. That is IC based transistors. For the oscillator section I noticed there are 3 thermistors thermal coupled with one of those arrays for temperature compensation.
As for the egs, they are digitally generated. So too are the LFOs.
Ringmod is implemented by a digital IC which has an onboard ADC/DAC. Forgot the name of the chip.

Ok, thanks for the replies. It's a toss up between the Kraftzwerg and the Mopho for my next studio toy/weapon.Trouble is the new Doepfer Dark energy looks tempting as well. I already know about the innards of the DSI and Doepfer. It's the Mfb that's more unknown.
