Synths used in my favorite Rick Springfield song

Hi,

I am wondering what synthesizers were used in "Human Touch". I know that my topic on the synths from "Living in Oz" was so broad I deleted it, but can anybody help me? All I can find are performances with pretend play. I don't really know what was actually used and for what sounds. The music video showed a Sequential Circuits Pro-One and a Moog Liberation. The TOTP performance showed a Yamaha DX (can't make out whether it was a DX-1 or a DX-7). All I know is that the synth drum sounds at the end of the original album version was a Simmons SDSV. Was there any Memorymoog, Minimoog, Jupiter-8, Prophet-5, Emulator I, OB-8 or OB-Xa, Xpander, or PPG Wave 2.2 used in the song? Some of the same sounds were used in other songs from the "Living in Oz" album, too. I would really like to know what did what. Thank you.

I asked Gabe Katona and this is his response:
"We mostly used the Prophet [5] on the filter sweep pads. On the synth stabs and the filter swell coming and going in and out of the choruses we used an Oberheim four voice SEM analog synth. I can't remember what we used on the sample and hold synth bits."

He also told me before that most of the Rick Springfield synth parts are Prophet 5, including parts that sound sequenced, which are actually the arpeggiator carefully played in time.

I have an SCI Prophet-5 freeware VST and a Sonic Projects OP-X Pro. I have done some experimenting with the two. The bass line had to have been an Oberheim FVS-1 with all the voice card parameters set identically. It did not sound right with the Prophet-5. I have come up with this on the OP-X Pro:

1. Mute voices 5 and 6
2. Have all the voices played in unison mode
3. Use only sawtooth waves
4. Detune 2nd oscillator at 25%
5. Cross-modulate the oscillators
6. Have filter cutoff at 100%
7. Have resonance at 55%
8. Enable first oscillator in the filter section
9. Only have the full button turned on for oscillator 2 in the filter section
10. Use no filter envelopes
11. Have the attack, decay, and release on amplifier envelope at 0%
12. Have the release on amplifier envelope at 100%

Correct me if I'm wrong. This is the closest I can get.

Hehe, I've seen people play polyphonically on monosynths on TOTP. It's all for show
