Analogue Solutions Europa

Post by kuroichi » Wed Feb 03, 2010 11:56 pm

Just thought I'd put this up...

Ive been waiting for more info on this for a while....

Looks like a winner for me, 17 track sequencer with triggers and midi, for a little bit more than a FR Orb (...in the UK)

Perfect timing aswell since I can use the triggers for the Metasonix D-1000 in the near future.....

Looks like one in, out and thru

It's got a nice feature set (trigger outs + midi), but I can't say I'm really interested in it

It's quite cheap compared to some others though, an FR Orb is £479 in the UK and thats one track...

I was waiting for the Cirklon from sequentix to be honest, but this looks really good.

Does look cool, wish Analogue Solutions had a better quality control track record.

Seperate pitch buttons are totally awesome, having to alternate between pitch and step on pretty much every other x0x sequencer ever tends to leave you choosing one or the other for performance. I'm interested in this for that alone.. but I've never been really keen on Analogue Solutions' pricing on their standalone stuff.

Can you set gate times (don't see any controls for it, and not sure how you would do without any display), or is this strictly a rhythm type sequencer?

Why is the keyboard layout at 90 degrees? Thats weird. Ok, I would have understood it if there was a matrix of LEDs for each 16th, but with only one row of LEDs, it doesn't make any sense.

Oh yeh, and 'Europa' is already the name of a synth music based item.

They also need to stop using freeware fonts for their panel typography.
