I saw this reportage from Vince Clark's studio in Main, US. Behind him was this modular that I couldn't recognize.
Can anyone help me identify this synthesizer?

Looks like some sort of Buchla modular to me.

video at 3:04

on the right side of him there's an ARP 2500 (well parts of it, the studio wing expansions, 3 times)

I think the one you're referring to is an EMU modular, but I'm not 100% sure...

This b***h has a very nice collection of synths. Now if he only made good music... ;)

I'll check out the Buchlas... there are a few models and I'm not very familiar with those....
Vince has got two - one to the right of him as well as the one to the left I took the pic from.

There is an EMU but the one I have on the pic is not.... I'm certain...

Yep, it's an good 'ol Buchla 100 modular (three cabinets). I also spotted a Korg PS-3300, E-mu modular,
Serge modular (4-panel system), Roland System 700 & 100M, EMS VCS3, a rackmounted Oberheim 8-voice, ARP 2500, 2600 and much more....incredible!

Nah, the others are right, it's a Buchla. The EMU can be recognised by its blue-rimmed modules and metallic knobs. Nice design.

I think the cronkiest looking modular I've seen has to be the PPG, with its all-over sticky-vinyl panel covering... definitely has a certain home-made vibe. Sadly the one I saw wasn't turned on so I never got to hear it.

Look like Vince put them in a custom cabinet... the original looks my grandmas bookshelf...

reminds me of the PAiA I had in the past... didn't make it my self though... the vinyl was had bubbles all over....

I don't think they're custom cabinets, the early Buchla's came in that cabinet styling as well as in a rounded
"L-shaped" styling.

Buchla 100

This system is similar in appearance to the one Morton Subotnick used on his groundbreaking electronic albums
"Silver Apples On The Moon" (1967) and "The Wild Bull" (1968).
