any drum machine kit?

I think the third batch order is closed. From what I understand there's an MB-606 soon to come also.

Not sure yet, I've been on the waiting list for a few years and my deposit's been in since November. Requires some patience, but I'm sure it's worth it. I'm guessing between $300 and $400 total.

The initial deposit to secure a kit was $100 US. The remaining cost is uncertain but will likely be about the same, according to the info so far. It's not a full kit though - PCB and odd parts only, I think. No case either, though there are plans to make a run of them I believe. And yes, the deadline for placing an order was several weeks ago. This was an extension of the previous term to help fill out the number of orders and lower the cost per kit.

What about Trevor Page's Introspectiv 9090? That's still going. It'll cost you a few hundred to build - TP will provide PCBs and a couple of ICs. All the rest is up to you. There's no onboard sequencer, but you do get MIDI in, thru and Sync24 out. Here's mine, photographed badly with an RX-11 on top. Most people put theirs in 2U racks, but I wanted mine to look like a cocktail cabinet:

I bought it AS IS, non-working. It'll go to my tech, in que behind my Synthex & P-10. I'll certainly make a YouTube vid when it's fixed.

Cheers. I'd post a demo, but it sounds eactly like a 909, so there's no point.

I'd forgotten about the Paia... looks fun. I'll have to check out the Gabriel track later.

Funny thing about the PAiA, it's mentioned that it was the first programmable drum machine, but the Italian made EKO Computer Rhythm beat that by a year in 1974, although the EKO uses punch cards, you can still program your own rhythms. The PAiA didn't appear until 1975.

The EKO (very rare to find these days and probably the very first with an x0x interface, a grid of 6 x 16 orange push buttons that light up)

Famous users of the EKO include - Jean Michel Jarre, Manuel Gottsching (of Ashra), another one belongs to german electronic musician Stephen Parsick.

I've been entertaining the idea of building a MPS. Thomas Henry's Mega Percussive Synth. Electro-music.com's selling the pcbs @$20 and you'd be sourcing your own parts. Like the 9090; theres no sequencer.
