I think this is the correct place to post. Hopefully some synth experts will be able to help me id this sound.

I know its some kind of digital sound module but not sure which one. It might be a famous patch on a Roland JD800 or D50 perhaps?
Possibly Korg but i have the M1 Digital vst and it doesnt seem to have this sound.

During the breakdown. Its the sort of synth like patch at 2:15. but also if anyone recognizes the bells i'd like to know where they came from?

The piano in this one does sound like the Korg M1

Thanks for reading :)

Those bells are quite buried in the mix, but they do sound like a preset on the JD-990. I forget the name and my 990 is sort of in storage at the moment.

EDIT: I think it's Tria Bells. Here's a sound clip from Snythmania: http://www.synthmania.com/Roland%20JD-9 ... 0Bells.mp3

Thanks i think you're right about those bells being from the 990, even if not that exact patch
I had been looking at those units already because i wanted some nice digital strings. The JD800 seems easier to find but a rack version is really what i want.

Any ideas on the other sound? Maybe from the 990 as well?

What other sound are you referring to?

The track drops at around 1:49 to some chords playing pads, by 2:00 those Roland bells and 2:16 a sort of digital lead synth which i cant quite make out.
Thats the other sound i was asking about and to be honest the one which made me ask here. It sounds (at least to me) like some kind of digital PCM sample based synth.
