Glastonbury synth spotting

Post by jaypodesta » Sun Jun 27, 2010 2:04 pm

Glasto seems to be a richer vein of synth spotting every year. Aside from the usual suspects; Voyager, Phatty, Nord, DSi - have you seen anything of interest?

Of note, I spotted:

Groove Armada with a EMS VCS3 (putney)

Kele (girl playing keys) had a Korg X50 - which made me thing of this forum ;)

Bit disappointed she didn't have the camo version though!

Anything else?

Tee hee, I watch the festival shows for synth spotting too! Although I havent seen much this year. I think I saw Shakira with a voyager, but then again Shakira was on stage wiggling about...

Yeah loads of Voyagers out there - including Jack Johnson's guy with a signature edition.

I'm sure I saw a Jupiter, can't remember which band though, it was played by a girl so probably doesn't count.

Well I just watched Orbital on the iPlayer and they seemed to be well stocked up. Large looking Macbeth M5 at the back

Why wouldn't it count just because it was played by a girl?
Fender Blacktop Jazzmaster | Squier CV Duo-Sonic | e6400 Ultra | Blofeld | a bunch of effects

Oh man, that Orbital with Matt Smith was damn cool :D

So awesome that he played the synths with them. I reckon he could have been on an Andromeda by the looks of it, you can see the 303 next to it in the vid.

Here's a few pics (from their site) of the gear they use live. The setup looks pretty much the same, with the A6, 303 etc on the left and the big Macbeth in the middle.
