Hooray for me! (Roland Juno 6)

Post by bachmaninoff » Fri Jul 09, 2010 11:10 am

Just scored a Juno 6 from a music shop in Shinjuku, Japan for $225. I wonder why it was that cheap... It's in excellent condition, all voices work, and it sounds great!

I've been using mostly softsynths up until now, and they sound great, but man! Being able to control each dedicated parameter is something else! I think I might be turning back over to hardware after this! :D

Now I just need a multitimbral board, drums, FX and a reliable hardware sequencer...

Juno6 is a good synth to have. Nice warm sound.

The first vintage synth I ever bought, and where I really learned about subtractive synthesis in practice. It's limited, but what it can do is really, really nice. I wish I still had room for one.
Gear List: A bunch that go 'WHHONNGG!', several that go 'tweedle tweedle' and 'thumpity', and a few that don't make any noise at all but have lots of delightful little lights on them.

My first proper synth too, nearly 20 years ago... Nice score - looks in good condition. So what if they have limitations, so does everything. I never felt disappointed with my Juno (or the 60 I later got) at all, despite the lack of one or two desirable features. The Junos are nice simple all-rounders and sound great.

My first synth too, which i bought from my high school before i left, they used the money to upgrade to a DX-7. Later on i would own a Juno-60.

Was my first vintage synth back in 1994 also. Cost me the equiv of £60, sold it for £100 a few years later. Could have got 3x that on ebay now.

And another here - my first synth, also a Juno 6 I procured way back in 1983. Lovely synth, parting with it was really quite difficult, but there was little point in keeping it along with the 60 when that arrived, so at least I have never been without the marvellous Juno sound. Also have the Alpha Ju 2, but the 60 invariably is the first of the "go to" analogues.

Great choice, you won't regret it! :)
