I don't really like my cz-1. it can make some interesting sounds, but it's not nearly as underrated as people say.

I always wanted one to control MidiNES with but I sold that and can't justify the price of the AZ.

Before I bought this one I have seen them go for up to $1000. Crazy! I don't know why, although this one is pretty highly considered amongst the '80s era controllers.

always thought the AXIS was nice loooking except that unneeded bar that connected the end of the neck to the chassis. that thing always bothered me

can we all agree the korg rk-100 was the ugliest??

The unneeded bar is the cornerstone of why it's so cool, it's an entirely useless addition based entirely on looking good.

Just got it! What a machine! I can see why it was so sought after in the '80's - 5 assignable controls, 2 simultaneous MIDI channel control/switching, aftertouch, lots of other features. And really cool looking. This one is in near mint condition, too. Highly recommend it if you can find one. Let the prancing begin!

Cheers and Merry Christmas!

AZ-1 Looks nice enough (if keytars are you thing) it's only spoiled by the CASIO logo which is never going to look as 'cool' as a Roland logo. Never in a million years. That's life/trends even in Kitsch circles :)

Axis looks great too - I like the overall design of both, I also like the Yammy KX-5.

Having said all this I have no desire to own/use any keytar ('Cept maybe a modgrip on an SH-101 purely for portability reasons if I had a stack of other synths live and needed it close to hand).

But as 'object's they do have a certain charm and appeal to my 80's kid eye :)
