Well what would people complain about? There are no details yet.

Apparently, VSE isn't the only Early Complaint Department.

"My god, that thing is so boring looking <yawn> it makes me want to .. want to...zzZzZzzz..... "
"that doesn't look like a whole lot of controllers for a synth. "
"M-Audio keys are the absolute worst. "
"Pianists will hate them because they're not fully-weighted, synthesists will hate them because of the awkward action. "
"The M-Audio brand stinks worse than Skoda so it'll have to be something special even to rate a 'meh'. "
"I see nothing unique about this at all, yet. It looks like a Blofeld. [shrug] "
"f**k you VA! We don't need you anymore! We've got tiny powerful laptops and Ableton Live with LOTS of VSTs and real analogue synth that doing all the rest. Why do i need that s**t with crappy keyboard and thin sounds?"
Now VSE can take it further and complain about the Name, font and Color!

That thing doesn't deserve a dedicated thread about it that's why no one has mentioned it before lol

If hardware synths are outlawed, only outlaws will use hardware synths"f**k you VA! We don't need you anymore! We've got tiny powerful laptops and Ableton Live with LOTS of VSTs and real analogue synth that doing all the rest. Why do i need that s**t with crappy keyboard and thin sounds?"
I listened to Hatfield and the North at Rainbow. They were very wonderful and they made my heart a prisoner.

Maybe it will trigger price drops on GAIA and Ultranova. They need to make better interface synths like former VA's though.

Hey you all managed with the sh-01 and the Ultranova.i'm happy about it, personally i don't use them. But the more competitive the market the better.Stab Frenzy wrote:Well what would people complain about? There are no details yet.

Re: Why is nobody talking about the M-audio venom yet?
Well a lot of similar products aint a good thing. It might discourage another company from diving in that actually *might* make a good one. If you're KORG, do you go ahead with the 'full analogue' microKORGotron? Anyone can sit in a pitch meeting and see a long list of VA synths coming out at all these price points and decide the market is too crowded and decide to go with something else.
How do I do it?
TANGENT ALERT
I actually think a monophonic analog called the MS 2011 (or 12) for the year. You might want to half-step and make a VA with analog filters. Radikal made a great piece with this approach so it's possible. The smaller version, microKORG F.A.T. Full Analog Type would be the one to push through the crowded playing field.
I'd also extend the R&D by making a desktop/rackmount that fits on the front of the M3, like the Radias and also an internal card for the M3.

Re: Why is nobody talking about the M-audio venom yet?
then I'd like to complain about the provocative lack of detailsStab Frenzy wrote:Well what would people complain about? There are no details yet.
I'd also like to complain about the provocative fact that I am the first to complain about the lack of details, as this should have been adressed SOONER you lazy vse basterds, can we really sit here and act like its OK that we didn't start trashtalking this new synth sooner?
vse, we are loosing it. time to tighten the grip, I suggest anyone who isn't complaining atleast three times per day should be banned
/bad joke (I'm in a weird mood now)

Re: Why is nobody talking about the M-audio venom yet?
Probably because since M-Audio was acquired by AVID their support has been cut off to the bone and is just plain lacking aside from their forum, where an under-numbered team does the job the best they can.
Let's hope we're complaining for no reason...

Re: Why is nobody talking about the M-audio venom yet?
If they can get this to retail for like $300 it would be quite interestingly affordable and undercut pretty much everyone else (since I guess the Novation Xio 25 is discontinued?)
At $400 retail, the field opens up with Korg, Akai etc - musiciansfriend still has the Xio 49 at that price too. If it's $400+, zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz - but M-audio's specialty is cheap things that work for the price, so we'll see.

Re: Why is nobody talking about the M-audio venom yet?
we'll have to see which quality category m-audio drops this in. some of their stuff is sub-behringer quality garbage, and then other stuff is surprisingly good for the price. most of their product line falls into the former, imo.
