The sequencer is unquantised if you want it to be. The drums are limited to 16 steps but the synth can record notes between them.

Honestly? you would buy it if it was 225, but not 300?
I don't think it's about expecting it to be under $300. Personally for me, all instruments have an "absolute" value, but there is also a "relative" value that I arrive at by factoring its usefulness to me personally. In reality the absolute value of the Monotribe is probably like $300, but since its apparent features do not precisely line up with my current needs, its personal value to me is lower (about 200-225).
The reason there's a difference is because once you reach the $300 mark, it starts to open up other things I could get for that amount of money that complements the direction my setup is going in right now, like pedals, or even modular/modules. On the other hand if I was into modding, its personal value to me might even exceed $300. Of course there are other reasons too why you might find it more valuable. It all depends on your setup.

Thomann's ship date has moved to 15th of July now, I'm kind of hoping it keeps moving forward cause I'd like to pick up one or two of these when I'm in Europe in a few weeks, so I've got something fun to play round with while travelling.
